Grant in Action

The Warrick County Community Foundation has identified mental health as a primary challenge facing the county through the Lilly Endowment GIFT VII Planning Grants.

At the same time, the Warrick County School Corporation (WCSC) was piloting a new Social Emotional Learning (SEL) program in one elementary school and wanted to expand this groundbreaking method to every school throughout its

system. The Community Foundation partnered with the WCSC to grow this initiative. Over the past three years, the Community Foundation has granted $224,703.88 to support

staffing and program needs as the SEL framework was established in each of the 10 elementary schools with plans to expand to all schools in the district.
